We headed to Eagan Bike Park aka Lexington Street Bike Park and Dirt Jumps in Eagan MN with our brand new GoPro HERO 3 Black edition and we’re still super excited about the slo-mo provided by shooting at 720P at 120fps.
The Eagan Bike Park is an awesome project spearheaded by Chance Glasford where the city has allowed a group of people to build an awesome set of trails right in a beautiful city park. The guys all work super hard and it’s one of the best sets of trails I’ve ever seen, which is especially awesome since it’s fully legit!
For a few years there’s been a small set of jumps and a pump track tucked into the back corner of Lexington Street Park, which also housed a larger number of Soccer fields as well as a nice little skatepark. Chance visited the park and saw it’s potential and started rallying up the troops.
They soon had permission and dirt from the city, and with a little help from some machines and shovels, they have what is now know as the Eagan Bike Park. Last Saturday they had their annual build day and we headed out to help them throw some dirt and stick some cameras in their faces.
To someone like me, it’s almost like heaven here on earth, almost too good to be true. I’ve dreamed about things like this. Literally. We can’t wait to get back soon to ride.
But I don’t think that will be enough for me. I now feel compelled to put the wheels in motion to start developing something like this in St Cloud. It’s time and we need something this. So stay tuned, I’ll keep you updated on what starts to happen.
Filmed with a GoPro HERO 3 Black in 720P at 120fps and a Canon EOS 60D mounted with a Tamron AF 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 and the Opteka CXS-100 Shoulder Support paired with the Opteka FF180 Reversible Follow Focus and the Manfrotto 701HDV/MVT502AM Tripod System.
